Rob Lloyd is an actor, teacher, comedian and improviser.
He was part of the cult musical-comedy hit The Dodge who toured extensively across Australia and released the CD “Trademark Pending”.
Rob founded Melbourne-based improvisational comedy troupe The Crew. He starred in and co-devised the formats for the Crew’s sell-out shows in Melbourne and Adelaide, including Instant Musical Odyssey and Instant Order: Trial By Audience.
Rob has trained and performed with the world-renowned improvisational group, The Loose Moose Theatre Company.
He also has numerous performance credits with the award winning comedy trio The Hounds, with sell-out Fringe and Comedy Festival seasons of Hound of the Baskervilles, Every Film Ever Made, The Last Bucket of Water and The Hounds present: Jabbas Comedy Hutt. Also with The Hounds, Rob was one of the head writers and lead performers in the Vicroads controversial series of ‘Don’t Be a Dickhead’ viral sketches.
With The Royal Institute of Australia, Rob hosts the science/comedy shows Mind Matters and The Science of Fiction: Doctor Who.
On his own, Rob has had a sell-out Melbourne Fringe season of his first solo show A Study in Scarlet (A Study of…), which he followed up with WHO, ME, which again had sell-out seasons at Melbourne Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Both shows were directed and co-devised by Scott Gooding and produced by Vicious Fish Theatre
On television Rob hosted and also performed on The Crew’s Channel 31 show Instant TV, appeared as an ensemble member of Thank God You’re Here (Season One), was the winner of Theatre Games Live (Season Two) on Channel 31, and was host, producer and co-writer on the multi-Antenna-Award-winning show The Mutant Way also on Channel 31.
